Want to know about FAACES?
FAACES has a unique approach to supporting abused children of Seminole County and providing extended support to the Guardian Ad Litem Volunteers who serve these unfortunate children. We step in to support the GAL (Guardian Ad Litem) Volunteers who are committed to the children they are helping. FAACES is a non-profit organization based in Seminole County Florida in partnership with the Guardian Ad Litem Program.
Volunteer Training
Seminole County GAL Program conducts trainings to certify volunteers four times per year. These trainings are mandatory to enable the program to always have enough volunteers to serve 100% of the abused children in our county. FAACES supports this certification training effort by hosting and funding lunch or dinner during the three 8-10 hour day training classes that volunteers are required to attend to gain certification.
Legislative Awareness
Volunteers from every GAL Program in Florida meet with legislators at our state capitol prior to the beginning of the Budget Session. The volunteers meet and talk with our Senators and Representative to educate them about the valuable service GAL’s provide to needy kids. The strong support of all legislators is needed to continue the funding for the Statewide Guardian ad Litem Program. Vote for politicians who support funding and the development of programs for abused and neglected children.
Supporting Abused Children
FAACES provides resources and support for our volunteers who go above and beyond for the children our often times neglected by the legal system. Guardian Ad Litem roles Include but not limited to:
- Volunteer at community programs that help children who have been abused or neglected or children who are considered at risk
- Organize events to benefit abused or neglected children
- Attend court legal court proceedings with young children
Funding Our Volunteers
GAL Volunteers often travel many miles every month visiting young kids taking the place of their absent parents. The costs of these trips become costly. FAACES steps in to provide funding for the GAL Volunteers to go towards the mission of being there for needy children.
